IT Protective Security Services Sdn Bhd (ITPSS) was invited by the Civil Service Institute (IPA) to give a talk on the importance of maintaining information security when handling files and records. More than 30 participants comprising of public servants from Division 3 to 5 attended the talk.

The talk was presented by Pg Mohd Farid Zulhusni bin Pg Aziz, Lead Trainer at ITPSS, and assisted by Dayang Siti Nor Izuana binti Ayob. Topics covered during the talk included Brunei’s Computer Misuse Act, the basics of information classification, threats on information security, mobile security and social media privacy. Reported cases in Brunei and statistics of cyber attacks compiled by Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT) were also shared, along with best practices in minimizing the risk of being attacked online. The talk ended with a Question & Answer session followed by a live demonstration on how to configure the encryption settings on your home Wifi router.
