THE ITPSS Sunday League is set to kick off this weekend.

According to a press statement issued by the organisers, the league - which is sanctioned by the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) - is organised by MSN United Football Club and Kampong Masin youth representatives and is designed for youth under the age of 12 and 15.

It will be held at the Masin Secondary School every Sunday from 7 – 9.30am.

The league is sponsored by ITPSS Sdn Bhd as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme for the younger communities and encourages parents to enroll their children for early morning sports on Sunday.

The primary objective is to give every opportunity for youth to play in a social league - to explore and unleash their sublime ability and strength at a much earlier stage, which organisers hope will produce a better athlete in the future.

It is also stated that junior football is about participation, and not selection, whereby the league is designed to accept children on an individual basis not as a team.

The children have gone through 10 weeks of training in preparation for the league with the help from volunteer coaches – eight of whom are AFC certified – every Sunday morning.

They will be separated into eight teams - Merpati, R Udang, Nuri, Kenari, Tiong, Murai, Layang and Pipit.
