Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT) has just unveiled its newly refreshed public awareness website, www.secureverifyconnect.info
According to Hj Mas Zuraime Hj Abdul Hamid, Head of BruCERT, “Secure Verify Connect (SVC) website was first launched in 2013 to complement BruCERT’s ongoing public awareness campaign. It has evolved over the years, but its main purpose remains to provide the public with easy access to our advise and guidance on common online safety issues including social media, cyberbullying, online predators, internet addiction and online safety for children.”
The latest iteration of the SVC website now makes it even easier for the public to find information that they need. It contains articles for various audiences such as students, parents, businesses, and individuals. It also includes the latest BruCERT news, cyber threat alerts, advisories, awareness videos and webinars. Educators will find resources that can be downloaded including posters and booklets, to help spread the message of online safety awareness.
To mark the release of the new SVC website, the public is urged to join the SVC Digital Treasure Hunt, which encourages players to explore the website in search for answers. This online treasure hunt consists of 3 levels, which progressively get more challenging. Players who successfully complete the hunt will have a chance to win cash prizes of $300, $200 and $100. Go to https://bit.ly/huntSVC to join the hunt. The SVC Digital Treasure Hunt will remain open until 20th June 2022.
